How to Find Us
Healthy Thursdays

We provide supported accommodation in locations across the city, for both single people and families. This accommodation is both shared and self contained.

In shared accommodation, clients will have their own bedroom and share other rooms like the lounge, kitchen, bathroom and garden with other clients.

People living in shared accommodation are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Everyone is treated as an individual and will be encouraged to think about what they want for their future, and with the help of project workers, find ways to make these things happen.

When clients move into the house they will work on a ‘support plan’, which will be drawn up with keyworkers at the ‘initial working contract’ meeting. This is a plan that sets out what clients want to achieve, how they intend to reach their goals and what kind of support they would find most helpful from staff. The plan looks at clients’ life in the house on a day-to-day basis.

It forms part of their care programme approach (CPA) which, if they have one, is the wider plan that involves people like social workers, psychiatrists and community psychiatric nurses, and is designed to address clients overall need.

Community Action Halfway Home can offer clients a secure, comfortable home while they build their confidence before moving on into a home of their own. As well as getting to know the other people who live in the house, clients will be able to meet people by getting involved in different activities, at Halfway and in the local community.
