This
service provides one-to-one befriending support for adults living in Sheffield who have mental health problems and are socially
isolated.
The befrienders meet clients on a weekly or fortnightly basis as needed. They do not do home visits.
The emphasis is on meeting in the community and making use of local facilities. This may include:
- Going for a
coffee and a chat - Going for a walk - Accompanying to a group - Going to the cinema / theatre
Accessing

We accept
referrals from people with mental health needs living in Sheffield, who are in receipt of a self-directed support budget.
When a referral is made we will invite the client and referrer to meet the Befriending Co-ordinator to talk about the service,
their needs and expectations. When it is agreed that the service will be beneficial, the client will be matched with a
Befriender and invited to meet him/her.
